What is an eSIM?
An eSIM is a digital SIM card built into your phone. Instead of a physical card, you scan a QR code and a carrier profile is installed. Your phone can then connect to that carrier's network — no plastic, no swap, no airport kiosk.
Will a Samth eSim work on my phone?
Any unlocked phone that supports eSIM works. That includes iPhone XS or newer, Google Pixel 4 or newer, Samsung Galaxy S20 or newer, and most modern Android flagships. Your phone must also be carrier-unlocked.
Can I keep my regular SIM active?
Yes. eSIMs run alongside your physical SIM in a Dual-SIM setup. Keep your home SIM for calls and SMS, use the Samth eSim for data. You can toggle data between them any time.
When does the plan start counting?
Validity starts on first connection to a network in the destination country — not when you install the QR. Install early; the timer starts the moment your phone latches on at the airport.
Do I need internet to install the eSIM?
Yes — but only at install time. Use home Wi-Fi or your existing mobile data to scan the QR. Once installed, the eSIM works without Wi-Fi the moment you turn on data roaming in destination.
Can I make phone calls?
Samth eSim plans are data-only. Use WhatsApp, FaceTime, iMessage, Signal, or Telegram for calls. Your home SIM keeps handling regular calls and SMS on your home number.
What happens when my data runs out?
Top up from the app or website — same eSIM profile, no new QR needed. Or buy a fresh plan from a different country if you're moving on.
Can I get a refund?
Yes — if you haven't installed the eSIM yet, we refund in full. If installed but unused, partial refund. If it's been used, refunds are reviewed case by case. We're not in the business of trapping customers.
Why is Samth eSim cheaper than carrier roaming?
Because we buy data wholesale from local networks in each country and pass through the cost. Roaming agreements between carriers are stacked with margin — we cut that out.
Does Samth eSim work in Russia?
Yes. Most travel-eSIM brands skip Russia because of sanctions or carrier risk. We have direct relationships and a Russia-specific eSIM that works from Moscow to Vladivostok.
